Overview

Our Exploring London junior programme at King's College, London Bridge, offers you the perfect location from which to discover one of the most exciting cities in the world, with daily excursions to famous sites in and around London. You will study and live in the heart of London’s Zone 1 right next to the Shard, at a leading college campus with excellent teaching facilities.

We are also a member of special interest group Young Learners English UK, working to raise the standards of all junior vacation courses in the UK.


*Please note that students up to the age of 20 years old may be present on site in closed groups on selected dates. Individuals must be 14 years or older. 


 


A typical day learning English in central London

On the juniors programme at King’s College, London you will get to experience English in a variety of contexts, from classroom learning to interactive social activities and excursions. The programme includes a full-day excursion, 5 city-based or local visits per week, as well as 7 evening activities, in exciting areas in and around London.

 

Mornings

09.30-12.30*

In the morning you will join fellow English language students** in a class that is adapted to your level of English.  You will improve your speaking, reading, listening and writing skills through a variety of interactive classroom activities, covering exciting topics like British culture, entertainment, clothes and fashion, or music.

You will get a break half way through your lessons.

 

Afternoons

13.30-17.30*

After lunch, you will be taken on afternoon excursions in and around London**, giving you the opportunity to practise your English language skills in real-life contexts. Excursions vary per week and you will get to see a range of iconic areas of London including Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and more!

 

Evenings

19.30-22.00*

Every evening after dinner you will get to socialise with your friends as well as meet other students at the evening social activity.

Led by our fun and enthusiastic Activity Leaders, the evening activity is different each night and varies from discos, film nights and karaoke to evening tours around London to places such as the Tate Modern, a walk along the Thames, or the Tate Modern!

**Our King’s College, London young learner centre operates on a zig-zag format, so depending on the week you join, you will start with either morning or afternoon classes. For example, if you have morning classes in your first week, you will have afternoon classes in your second week, and so on.
