A typical day learning English in Edinburgh
On the junior programme in Edinburgh you will experience English in a variety of contexts, from classroom learning to interactive social activities and excursions.
In the morning you will join fellow English language students** in a class that is adapted to your level of English. You will improve your speaking, reading, listening and writing skills through a variety of interactive classroom activities, covering exciting topics like British culture, entertainment, clothes and fashion, or music.
You will get a break half way through your lessons.
After lunch, you will be taken on afternoon excursions in and around Edinburgh**, giving you the opportunity to practise your English language skills in real-life contexts in Scotland’s capital city. Excursions vary per week and you will get to see a range of iconic Edinburgh locations such as Calton Hill, Edinburgh Castle, the Botanic Gardens, Arthur’s Seat and more!
For 2 nights every week you will get to socialise with your friends in an evening activity. Led by our fun and enthusiastic Activity Leaders, the evening activities vary from Scottish ceilidh dances and evening city tours to scavenger hunts, discos and film nights.
When you are not on an evening activity you will be looked after by your homestay host, offering a fantastic opportunity to practise your English and learn about British culture.
