ELC York was founded in 1997 and since then has become one of the best English language schools and teacher training centres in England. ELC York is located at the heart of one of the UK's most iconic and beautiful cities.
Our school is accredited by the British Council and by EAQUALS and our International Foundation Programme is accredited by York St John University. Our popular Teacher Training Courses are accredited by the University of Cambridge (ESOL) and we are very proud to be members of English UK, which is a national association representing English language providers in the UK.
ELC York is now part of the ELC Experience English group but nothing has changed, we still offer high-quality courses in a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Who are we?
The ELC Experience English Group brings together four prestigious English schools – ELC Edinburgh, Hampstead School of English, Manchester Academy of English and English Language Centre York – to form one brand.

What do we offer you?
ELC York has a wide selection of courses to suit everyone, including General English, Academic English, Cambridge ESOL exam preparation, Teacher Training and Executive English for professionals. We also have Family Packages and courses for Young Learners aged between 12 and 17. We guarantee that our classes will have a maximum size of 12 students, to make sure we can fulfill each student's needs.
ELC York is also well known for the quality of its CELTA course as well as for the Distance DELTA Orientation course, a highly-flexible programme which combines observed teaching practice, online tutoring and local mentoring.
