ELC Manchester Academy of English was established in 1991 and was the first English language school in the city. Our school is located in the heart of Manchester and welcomes more than 50 different nationalities each year. We are accredited by the British Council,as well as being a member of English UK, a consortium of recognised English Language establishments located in the UK.
High quality teaching is our trademark - ELC Manchester has recently been awared best teaching qualifications centre in the UK. Our teaching team is highly qualified with the necessary experience to understand the learning difficulties encountered by foreign students.
Nothing has changed – we are now part of the ELC Experience English group, but we still offer the same high-quality courses we are known for.
Who are we?
The ELC Experience English Group brings together four prestigious English schools – ELC Edinburgh, Hampstead School of English, Manchester Academy of English and English Language Centre York – to form one brand.

What do we offer you?
ELC Manchester Academy of English has a wide selection of courses such as General English and Academic English. We are an official centre for Cambridge exams and TOEIC examinations and we are well known for the quality of our CELTA and DELTA courses.
Families are also welcome as we offer Family Packages and our summer courses for Young Learners are really popular - ELC Manchester has an agreement with Manchester City F.C. and we run football training workshops four young learners in their grounds.
