In the mornings you will have three hours of tuition, from 09.15 to 12.35. You will get a mid-morning break with time to grab a coffee nearby, chat to fellow classmates or ask our staff any questions you might have.
Every week, you will take a progress test as part of your class, to check how your English skills are developing and evaluate which areas of improvement you need to focus on for the week ahead.
If you are taking a 20- or 25-hour course you will also have afternoon classes that finish at 16.15 with a mid-afternoon break, available for Combination Course students taking Business English, IELTS, TOEIC, or TOEFL. You can also choose to take private tuition if you wish.
We also run free academic clubs each week (such as Conversation Club and Grammar Surgery), as well as fun activities like film nights and trips to museums or art galleries, helping you improve your English language communication skills in a relaxed and informal setting. This is a great opportunity to meet other students and build life-long friendships.
Some activities are free and others incur an additional cost. If you were to take part in all activities throughout the week, you can expect to pay £10-£50 per week.

Manchester is a vibrant and exciting urban hub. Known for its fashionable youth culture, fantastic shopping and important industrial heritage, it also has a world-famous music scene, and is the birthplace of bands such as Joy Division, Oasis, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses and many others.
The city is also well known for its sport, and we have recently established a joint young learner summer programme with City Football Schools (Manchester City Football Club’s training programmes), taking place at their brand new multi-million pound training facility.
Manchester has plenty of cinemas, dog racing, go karting, rock climbing, and ice skating facilities.
Our exciting social programme reflects the vibrant life of Manchester: cultural events and many sport-related activities, as well as regular restaurant, pub and film nights on the social programme. We also organise full day weekend excursions in co-operation with the International Society, to places such as York, Liverpool, Chester, Birmingham, Wales and Alton Towers.
