Overview
ELC London Hampstead School was founded in 1977, and since then we have become one of London's top English language schools. All our students receive close personal attention and we aim to help you make maximum progress in English during an unforgettable stay in London.
Our large school is located close to the wealthy residential area of Hampstead, a lovely area and within walking distance of Hampstead, one of London's best-preserved old villages. ELC London Hampstead is the perfect location to study an English language course while exploring Britain’s vibrant capital.
Our School – A typical day
A typical day at our school is filled with plenty to do; there are activities in the morning, afternoon and evening. Come and experience English with us.
Mornings
Lessons start at 9.15 and finish at 12.30 with a 15 minute break.
The classes we teach in the morning include General English, Executive English, Academic English, and Cambridge exam courses.
Afternoons
Lessons take place between 12.40 and 16.35 with a 10-minute break at 14.50. The classes we teach include General English specialist skills, exam courses e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, Business English and Executive English. We also offer a homework club and a pronunciation workshop. If you are in the long-term student pogramme, you will meet regularly with your fellow students and have tutorials with a senior teacher to offer you additional study support.
Evenings
A range of activities feature each week on the social programme. Every Tuesday we run a pub night where you can go to our local pub with a teacher. On Thursdays we run another teacher-led activity, for example a trip to a museum, an art gallery, a guided walk or a visit to an interesting part of the city. We also offer additional teacher-led activities frequently which change depending on the time of year and events in London.

Accommodation
We understand how important it is to have a safe, comfortable and welcoming place to stay during your time with us. For that reason we have dedicated staff in our centres to help you arrange the accommodation option that suits you best:
The images displayed below represent the overall standard and quality of each accommodation. Students are not guaranteed to stay in the exact place photographed.
Homestay accommodation
Stay with a local host. Living with a host and their family gives you even more contact with English speakers and a real insight into life in London. Our hosts treat each student as a new member of the family, eating together and sharing the common living areas. No more than four students will be accommodated in homestay accommodation at any one time.
Facilities
Homestay facilities include:Private home accommodation
More than four adult students may be accommodated in a private home; there may be less direct contact with the host(s) and your stay may be self-catered. This is an inexpensive option, ideal if you would like the comfort of a home, while having the freedom to live independently.
