York by bus

York has an excellent bus network and it is very easy to get around the centre and the outskirts of the city. Here you will find timetable and information from the main service provider First Bus.

There are also great places to visit out of the city centre which are accessible by the Coastliner bus, such as Scarborough, Filey, Whitby and Leeds.

York by bike

York is officially the safest city in which to cycle in the UK. It is the quickest way across town and many people choose cycling to commute to work each day. There are many miles of cycle routes, some completely traffic free, both for travelling to school and for leisure time. There is a large bicycle parking facility about 10 metres from the main school entrance.
